When considering decentralized NFT marketplaces, it's important to understand the level of decentralization present. Some of the most popular decentralized NFT marketplaces are OpenSea, and Rarible.
Quick overview of common NFT marketplaces
OpenSea presents a fusion of decentralized and centralized systems. However, OpenSea retains the ability to delete people from their platform by banning the artist. Furthermore, OpenSea has already implemented IP bans by region, thus making OpenSea, the least decentralized popular NFT marketplace available.
Rarible on the other hand has distanced itself from this kind of power. They have implemented a token called $RARI, and claim: "$RARI token holders will be able to submit and vote on the proposals related to the Rarible Protocol, which, if approved, will be implemented by the RARI Foundation." Therefore opening up change to the community is an important aspect of a decentralized system. Furthermore, holding the RARI token offers their community a variety of discounts on their platform. Wether you're want to buy an NFT or list one, the RARI token offers up to 0% fees.
How to buy an NFT with Rarible?
First, visit the Rarible website. Once you've opened the page, select connect wallet on the upper right-hand side of the screen and select your wallet. If you don't already have one, be sure to check out our guide. Then follow the instructions of your wallet provider to successfully connect your wallet.

Then you will be prompted to select the name you wish to display (which people would see when you buy an NFT), and the email address you wish to use. The next step is to read & accept the terms and conditions, and press "Finish Sign Up".
Congratulations, you've officially completed the sign-up procedure. Now you can simply select the NFT you wish to buy by either searching for it or selecting "Explore" which will show you all NFTs. Now to purchase it, you simply have to select the "Check Out" option. If you have insufficient funds in ETH, you have the option to quickly buy some more with a credit card through "Wyre". Alternatively, your purchase has gone through successfully and you now officially own the NFT.
